    music – food – community!

George Peacock has been building and repairing fine stringed instruments in his shop in the Duboce Triangle, at the corner of 15th and Noe, since 1971 — 40 years!  Now, sadly, he’s fighting a very serious illness, and his friends, compatriots, patrons and neighbors are stepping up to come to his aid with this benefit concert, to be held in a lovely old (1906) church just a few blocks from the guitar shop, at 599 Duboce, corner of Noe, facing Duboce Park.

Performances will begin at 6:30 pm with Leonid Igudesman (violinist in the San Francisco Opera Orchestra) and will continue throughout the evening with guitarists Terry Haggerty, Duck Baker, Craig Ventresco, Teja Gerken, Tom Lander, Gayle Lynn Schmitt, Misisipi Mike Wolf and m.c. Steve Stein, pianist Michael Parsons, bassists Bill Lanphier and Tom Drohan, and drummer Chris Bjorkbom.

Donated items will be available for sale and silent auction, including a guitar handmade by George’s son Noah (starting bid $800), plus several guitars valued at $100 to $200 (starting bid $80), vintage rock posters and memorabilia, sets of guitar strings, etc.

If you can’t attend, you can still help by making a check out to George Peacock and sending it to Peacock Music, 2200 15th Street, San Francisco, CA 94114.  Funds raised will be used by George for medical, living & business expenses.
